Sixty days. That is the gap between today, September 20th, and November 19th, 2026, when GTA 6 officially launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Two months. Eight weeks. The same amount of time it takes to binge every season of a long HBO drama twice over.

At this point, we know a lot. We know Lucia and Jason are the dual protagonists. We know Vice City is the setting, soaked in neon and coastal crime. We know the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition runs $99.99. We have seen three trailers and an extended gameplay showcase that aired on Netflix. Pre-orders are live with the Vintage Vice City Pack as the bonus.

But here is the thing: Rockstar has kept an unusual amount of information locked away with only 60 days to go. The things we do NOT know are almost as interesting as the things we do. Let us run through the big ones.

1. When Does GTA 6 Come to PC?

This is the elephant in the room. Rockstar has only confirmed console launches, with no PC date announced. GTA 5 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, then came to PC in April 2015, a 19-month gap. If history repeats, PC players might be waiting until mid-2028.

To be clear: Rockstar has not confirmed or denied a PC version of GTA 6. That silence is deafening. The PC community is the backbone of long-term GTA modding and engagement, and the longer this goes unaddressed, the more anxious that audience gets.

Speculation: a late 2027 PC announcement is plausible, but nothing official supports it. File it under "almost certainly coming, timeline unknown."

2. What Does the Full Map Actually Look Like?

We have seen chunks of Vice City through trailers and the Netflix gameplay event. We know the map is larger than GTA 5's version of Los Santos. But the complete overhead map view, the kind that shows every road, every district, every county line, has never been officially released.

Leaks have suggested a sprawling layout that includes Vice City proper, surrounding rural highways, swamplands to the north, and offshore areas. Some leakers claim there is a second smaller city reachable by plane or boat. Rockstar has not confirmed any of this.

The full map reveal, if it comes before launch, would be one of the biggest GTA 6 content drops of the entire pre-release cycle. Rockstar knows this. They are holding it deliberately.

3. Who Is the Main Villain?

The trailers have established Lucia and Jason as the leads, positioned as a modern Bonnie and Clyde running jobs across South Florida. But who are they running those jobs for, or against?

We have seen glimpses of crime bosses, cartel-adjacent figures, and corrupt officials in the trailers. Nobody has been named or confirmed as the central antagonist. In GTA 5, Devin Weston and Steve Haines served as the primary antagonists in the final act. GTA 6 almost certainly has a comparable figure, but Rockstar has given us nothing official.

This matters because it affects the entire tone of the story. Is this a slow-burn betrayal narrative? A cartel war? A rags-to-riches crime empire arc? We genuinely do not know yet.

4. How Does GTA Online Work This Time?

GTA Online became a cultural and financial phenomenon that dwarfed the GTA 5 single-player campaign in terms of longevity. Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will have an online component, but the specifics are almost entirely unknown.

Will it launch simultaneously with the single-player? GTA 5's online mode launched two weeks after the base game, to disastrous technical results. Will Rockstar repeat that structure, or launch both at once? Will progress from GTA Online carry over in any form? What happens to the existing GTA Online servers once GTA 6 drops?

These are not minor questions. For a chunk of the GTA fanbase, online is the only mode they play. Rockstar's silence here is conspicuous.

5. What Is the Day-One Install Size?

With 60 days out, retailers and platform stores typically list install sizes for major titles. As of today, no official figure has been confirmed for GTA 6.

Industry analysts and data miners who have looked at Take-Two's infrastructure activity have estimated the game could land anywhere between 100 GB and 150 GB on day one, potentially larger. PS5 and Xbox Series X both have 825 GB and 1 TB of usable storage respectively, and GTA 6 could eat a significant chunk of that.

If you have not already cleared space on your console, now is the time to start. The install size announcement, when it comes, is going to send a lot of people into storage panic.

6. Are There Returning Characters?

The GTA universe has always been loosely connected. Characters from Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas share a world separated by geography and time period. GTA 6 returns to Vice City, where Tommy Vercetti's story played out in 2002.

Rockstar has confirmed nothing about returning characters. The timeline of GTA 6, set in the present day rather than the early 2000s, makes a direct Tommy appearance complicated but not impossible. The more realistic candidates are background nods and Easter eggs rather than playable cameos.

Still, the GTA fandom has been speculating hard on this one. Any official confirmation would move fast.

7. What Are the PC Specs? (Yes, Again)

Even if a PC version does not launch day-and-date with consoles, Rockstar would ideally give PC players something to plan around. No minimum or recommended specs have been shared. No graphics preset rundown. No DLSS or FSR support confirmation.

For a game that will push hardware as hard as GTA 6 almost certainly will, this silence matters. PC players buying or upgrading rigs right now are doing so without a single official data point to guide them.

The 60-Day Stretch Is When Things Get Real

Here is what history tells us about the final two months before a massive release: this is when the marketing flood gates open. Rockstar will almost certainly drop more content, and the gaming press cycle will accelerate. The questions above are not going to stay unanswered forever.

Sixty days is enough time for a gameplay deep-dive. Enough time for a PC announcement. Enough time for the full map reveal. Enough time for at least one more look at the online mode.

Whether Rockstar delivers on any of those fronts in the next two months is the question every GTA fan is sitting with right now. The clock is officially ticking.

GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026. Standard Edition: $79.99. Ultimate Edition: $99.99. Pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack.
